Our association with Bikram Original Hot Yoga was accidental. We have always led very active lives for the past 7 years, which involves us going to the gym to work out. However, Julia was recently stricken with tennis elbow and that affected her exercise regime, especially with weight lifting. She went to see a Physiotherapist for her tennis elbow but there was no improvement. As for me, I have a nagging problem with my knee for years - I can’t bend it due to inflammation.
We decided to try Bikram Original Hot Yoga and we are glad to have made that decision to join. Within six months, Julia’s tennis elbow was cured and the swelling of my knee is non-existent. I can easily do squats and run 10km without any swelling after these sessions.
What’s more, with Bikram Original Hot Yoga, we noticed that it was easier to maintain our weight. This was even more so for Julia who had "love handles", despite her regular gym workouts. Now, she has a toned body and the "love handles" have vanished!
Bikram Original Hot Yoga has definitely changed our lives as we have received various health benefits and better stamina. The instructors are also well trained who are consistent in their teaching methodology and always have answers to guide us when we are uncertain!
When I was offered a chance to try out Bikram Original Hot Yoga, I jumped at it because I wanted to see just how different it is compared to other forms of Yoga.
I certainly wasn’t disappointed! The first class I attended proved to be a very challenging one and my whole body was numb and tired from the 90 minute workout. I took some time to get used to the heat and it didn’t help that my palms were so sweaty, making it difficult to grip the mat for certain postures.
Through practicing Bikram Original Hot Yoga, I get better sleep. More amazingly, was how it has helped to lower my blood pressure. Prior to practicing, my blood pressure was 150 and now, it is now just slightly above average. Even my doctor is amazed at the results.
I also love the satisfaction of being able to complete the 26 postures. Through the postures, I get to increase my mental focus, which has helped me to face my daily challenges ahead. Physically, Bikram Original Hot Yoga is a great strength building exercise too. My instructors are always encouraging, constantly motivating me to reach my full potential.
Ironically, I was accompanying a colleague who wanted to try out Bikram Original Hot Yoga to relieve stress. Just after the first class, I was hooked and the rest is history!
I could only perform 3 out of the 26 postures and I was breathing very heavily as the heat was quite stifling. The next day, my ankles, hamstrings, quadriceps and shoulders felt stiff, but I definitely felt lighter and slept better that night.
I continued attending classes consecutively for 30 days and I lost 10 kilos! My energy levels are up, my stamina is much better and I sleep better every night. The 90 minute class is definitely a challenging full body workout. However, I enjoy myself tremendously as the instructors are fantastic and they are always motivating everyone.
