Erik Cheah
Erik used to be a long distance cyclist.

A serious knee injury coupled with several cycling accidents rendered him unable to actively participate in any sports, including cycling.

Erik was first introduced to Bikram Yoga in 2006 while he was living in Bangkok, Thailand. At a Bikram Yoga centre, he watched a group of people sweating it out in a hot room. It really made him miss the feeling of working out, which he had to forgo following his knee injury. Without even trying out a Bikram Hot Yoga class, Erik signed up for a membership there and then!

For Erik, yoga is a life-long continuous learning journey
as he strives to improve his knowledge

Initially, he faced tremendous pain in his knee during practice but Erik persevered. After 6 months, his knee was healed! Erik has never looked back since.

Erik never dreamed that he would one day become a Bikram Yoga instructor. Due to the positive encouragement Erik received, he continued to train and practice Bikram Yoga for 2 years before embarking on his teacher training in Acapulco in Spring 2008.

For Erik, yoga is a life-long continuous learning journey as he strives to improve his knowledge about this ancient practice. He loves working at the Bikram Original Hot Yoga centre which fulfills the personal motto that he lives by:
